Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslemeen Dr. Hamid Shahriari, Head of the SAMT Organization, emphasized the necessity of an integrated approach in Islamic sciences and stated: “Excessive specialization in Western sciences has caused scholars to remain ignorant of other fields of knowledge, whereas in the Islamic tradition, scholars had a comprehensive vision; they were simultaneously builders of individuals and architects of society.”

Ayatollah Ali Akbar Rashad, President of the Research Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought, proposed the approach of “Desirable Engineering of Knowledge” and stated: “Every science has five components: principles (mabādi), subject matter (mawḍū‘), problems (masā’il), logic (mantiq), and end/purpose (ghāyah).
