hujjat al-islam wal-muslimin dr. reza berenjkar

hujjat al-islam wal-muslimin dr. reza berenjkar was appointed as the president of the qur’an and hadith research institute in 1401 (iranian calendar) by hujjat al-islam wal-muslimin mr. seyed ali ghazi askar, with the approval of the minister of science, research, and technology. previously, from 1392 to 1401, he served as the deputy and senior advisor to the president of the research institute, overseeing and guiding its activities.

dr. berenjkar was born in 1342 in astara. he completed his secondary education in 1360 with a diploma in mathematics and physics. in 1361, he entered the seminary in qom. he completed his seminary studies after finishing the intermediate (sath) level and seven years of advanced courses (kharej) in jurisprudence and principles. alongside standard seminary courses, he also studied theology, philosophy, exegesis, and hadith.

he continued his studies in philosophy at university and earned a phd in western philosophy from the university of tehran in 1380. he is currently a full professor at the university of tehran and serves as the head of the islamic theology association in the seminary. he continues to engage in teaching and research both in the seminary and at the university.

duties and authorities of the founder

article 3: the duties and authorities of the founder are as follows:

3-1. obtain the establishment license and other necessary permits from the council for the expansion of higher education and other competent authorities;
3-2. draft the statutes of the research institute and submit them to the council for the expansion of higher education;
3-3. register the research institute with the companies registration office after receiving the establishment permit from the council;
3-4. appoint individual members of the board of trustees and notify the council for the expansion of higher education, and dismiss any of them;
3-5. provide the necessary facilities and arrangements for the commencement and continuation of the institute’s activities;
3-6. supervise the scientific and content-related activities of the research institute to achieve its goals through the institute’s scientific council;
3-7. review, approve, or reject board of trustees’ proposals regarding any changes to the statutes, scope of activities, dissolution, or development of the research institute, and submit them to the council for the expansion of higher education;
3-8. review, approve, or reject other proposals of the board of trustees;
3-9. appoint, dismiss, or accept the resignation of the president of the research institute upon the proposal of the board of trustees;
3-10. review, approve, or reject the qualifications of individuals proposed by the president of the research institute for the leadership of research centers;
3-11. approve and communicate strategic plans related to the goals and duties of the research institute;
3-12. determine the ceiling for the operational and capital budgets of the research institute and approve and communicate the annual program and budget after board approval;
3-13. secure the financial needs of the research institute through bank facilities, interest-free loans, donations, and resources received by the institute or its board of trustees from other natural or legal persons.
