According to the Public Relations Department of the Research Institute of Quran and Hadith, the commemoration ceremony for the theological thoughts of Martyr Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr was organized by the Association of Islamic Theology of the Seminary, in collaboration with the Research Institute of Quran and Hadith, Farabi College of the University of Tehran, the Martyr Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr Research Institute, and with the participation of several academic and educational centers and institutions in Qom. The event featured speeches by esteemed professors: Professor Ahmad Moballeghi, Professor Mohammad Taqi Sobhani, Professor Reza Berenjkar, and Professor Behrouz Mohammadi Monfared, and was attended by professors, researchers, seminary students, university students, and media representatives on Tuesday, Mehr 28, 1405 AP (October 20, 2025), from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Shahid Sadr Hall of Farabi College, University of Tehran.

Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Dr. Reza Berenjkar, Head of the Research Institute of Quran and Hadith and Chairman of the Seminary's Association of Islamic Theology, spoke as the first speaker of the event, addressing the proof of God's existence in Martyr al-Sadr's thought. He stated: "Martyr al-Sadr proves the existence of God by employing the argument from design through the induction of order and the calculus of probabilities."

The theory of goodness and badness (Husn and Qubh), the theory of power, and the theory of sovereignty were other topics elaborated upon by Dr. Reza Berenjkar.

He further added: "My proposal is that next year Farabi College, in cooperation with one of the universities in Iraq, hold a conference covering all scientific dimensions of Martyr al-Sadr."

Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Dr. Behrouz Mohammadi Monfared, speaking as another presenter at the event, discussed the philosophy of ethics in Martyr al-Sadr's thought, stating: "Among the innovations of Martyr al-Sadr regarding the philosophy of ethics is his attention to the meaning of ethics and the issues related to the definition of goodness and badness."

He added: "The fundamental point made by Martyr al-Sadr in the theological proposition that justice is inherently good is that 'goodness' is embedded within the essence of justice itself, though divine pleasure must also be taken into account in Martyr al-Sadr's perspective."

Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Dr. Mohammad Taqi Sobhani, speaking as another presenter at the event, discussed the explicit appointment (Nass) of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to the Imamate from Martyr al-Sadr's viewpoint.

He added: "Comprehending the truth is possible through two methods: first, the method of syllogism (Qiyas), and second, the method of induction (Istiqra). In Aristotelian logic, the method of syllogism receives more attention."

He continued: "In Martyr al-Sadr's perspective, greater attention is paid to the method of induction, which relies on probabilities and evidence. Therefore, the explicit appointment (Nass) of the Imamate of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), has been established through the method of inductive evidence and the law of probabilities."

Ayatollah Professor Ahmad Moballeghi, as another speaker at the event, discussed the perspective of historical theology in Martyr al-Sadr's thought, stating: "In Martyr al-Sadr's view, human beings form the base and foundation of society; humans are inherently social, and this association and society constitute historical theology."

He added: "Another important point made by Martyr al-Sadr regarding historical theology pertains to the origin of movement. Furthermore, the fundamental focus of this movement is centered on the ultimate goal."

While explaining other stages of social movement, Ayatollah Moballeghi considered exploitation to be an accidental (aradi) phenomenon, whereas Marxists viewed it as intrinsic and necessary. The concept of the Ummah (community) and its unity were among the other topics addressed by Ayatollah Moballeghi.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Alireza Mohammadrezaei, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Farabi College, welcomed the guests and attendees and outlined the program's agenda.
