According to the Public Relations Office of the Quran and Hadith Research Institute, in continuation of the series of specialized sessions on Islamic manuscript studies, a session entitled "Migration of Manuscripts from the Najaf School to Iranian Seminaries" was held at the initiative of the Quran and Hadith Research Institute and with the participation of professors and students of the Hilla Seminary.
As the main speaker, Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Jafar Ashkvari examined the historical process of transferring valuable manuscripts from the libraries of Najaf to Iranian academic institutions.
Referring to notable examples such as the migration of a precious manuscript to the Khansar Seminary during the Qajar period, His Eminence emphasized that these transfers were not just the movement of books, but also caused intellectual and scientific mutual influence between the Najaf and Iranian seminaries and the preservation of the Shiite written heritage during critical historical periods.
He gave examples of manuscripts transferred to the Isfahan, Qom, and Mashhad seminaries, emphasizing the need for registration and interdisciplinary studies to recover the historical chain of these manuscripts.
In the continuation of this session, researchers from the Quran and Hadith Research Institute also presented their new findings in the field of identifying and documenting these manuscripts.
The session ended with questions and answers from the attendees and students about the jurisprudential, historical, and manuscript-related dimensions of the issue, and it was decided that the results of this session would be continued in the form of a research report as well as future plans for a case study of manuscripts transferred to different seminaries in Iran.Coinciding ...
