According to the Public Relations Department of the Research Institute of Quran and Hadith, the theological school of Hillah is undeniably one of the most prominent and influential Imami theological schools throughout history.

Flourishing between the 6th and 9th centuries AH in the city of Hillah, Iraq, this school was not merely an heir to earlier intellectual traditions such as the schools of Baghdad, Ray, and Qom; rather, through a critical engagement with two major intellectual currents—Peripatetic philosophy and late Mu'tazilite theology—it successfully developed an independent and flourishing theological system.

This book examines the cultural, economic, and political conditions of the Hillah school, its intellectual currents, and ultimately the views of its scholars, focusing particularly on the doctrines of the first and second eras of theologians as well as the traditionists (Muhaddithun) of Hillah.

Structured around this framework, the present study is organized into seven chapters as follows:

• Chapter 2: Intellectual Currents of the Hillah School
• Chapter 3: Methodology and Theological Foundations of the Hillah Theologians
• Chapter 4: Proving the Existence and Attributes of God in the Thought of the Hillah Theologians
• Chapter 5: Divine Justice in the Thought of the Hillah Theologians
• Chapter 6: Prophethood and Imamate in the Thought of the Hillah Theologians
• Chapter 7: Eschatology (Ma'ad) in the Thought of the Hillah Theologians

Authored in Persian by Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Mohammad Jafar Rezaei and Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Seyed Akbar Mousavi Tenyani,"The Theological School of Hillah"is published in Royal Octavo format spanning 672 pages, and was released in 2025–2026 (1404 SH) in cooperation with Dar al-Hadith Publications.
