Publication of the Book Virtue Ethics in the Mirror of Reason and Religion

The book “Virtue Ethics in the Mirror of Reason and Religion”, authored by Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Hadi Sadeqi and Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Seyyed Mohammad-Baqer Mirsane’, has been published as one of the scholarly works of the Quran and Hadith Research Institute.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Quran and Hadith Research Institute, the present book, by examining virtue ethics, explores one of the meta-theoretical levels of the theory of moral integration. It seeks to avoid syncretic approaches in religious thought by clearly distinguishing between rational and transmitted (scriptural) discussions.
Innovative features of this work include:

Presenting various types of virtue ethics and highlighting their implications for practical and applied ethics;

Offering comprehensive definitions of virtue and happiness;

Explaining the levels and dimensions of the moral exemplar;

Presenting anthropological and scriptural arguments for virtue ethics;

Introducing a new dimension of the meta-theory of moral integration and clarifying the role of virtue ethics in guiding moral development;

Proposing the perspective of Wilāyah-based ethics.

The book “Virtue Ethics in the Mirror of Reason and Religion”, authored by Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Hadi Sadeqi and Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Seyyed Mohammad-Baqer Mirsane’, has been compiled in Persian, in octavo format, in 328 pages, and was published in 2024 (1403 AH) in collaboration with Dar al-Hadith Publications.
