Volumes 11 and 12 of Mawsū‘at Ma‘ārif al-Kitāb wa al-Sunnah Published
Volumes 11 and 12 of Mawsū‘at Ma‘ārif al-Kitāb wa al-Sunnah (Encyclopedia of the Teachings of the Quran and Sunnah), authored by the late Ayatollah Mohammadi Rayshahri in collaboration with a team of researchers from the Quran and Hadith Research Institute, have been published.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Quran and Hadith Research Institute, the eleventh and twelfth volumes of the Arabic-language workMawsū‘at Ma‘ārif al-Kitāb wa al-Sunnah—authored by the late Ayatollah Mohammadi Rayshahri and prepared with the collaboration of researchers from the Research Center for Hadith Sciences and Teachings—are now in print.
Drawn from the Arabic entries of theQuran and Hadith Encyclopedia, this work similarly encompasses a broad thematic spectrum, addressing religious, doctrinal, ethical, political, economic, and cultural concepts exclusively in Arabic.
Arranged in an alphabetical-thematic framework, the encyclopedia elucidates religious themes, concepts, and entries by citing verses of the Holy Quran and traditions of the Infallibles (peace be upon them). Its defining features include comprehensiveness, conciseness, rigorous documentation, and a methodologically grounded pairing of Hadith with the Quran. Furthermore, each entry opens with an analytical overview that examines the subject from various dimensions.
Previously, 10 volumes had been released in preceding years, and the entire series is projected to exceed forty volumes.
The newly released 11th and 12th volumes cover entries under the letters "Tā’" (ت) and "Thā’" (ث), featuring the following topics:
- Volume 11:Al-Tijārah(Commerce/Trade),Al-Itrāf(Affluence and Luxury),Al-Tawbah(Repentance)
- Volume 12:Al-Tawbah(Repentance -continued),Al-Thaghr(Frontier/Border),Al-Thawāb(Spiritual Reward/Recompense)
It is worth noting that Volumes 11 and 12 ofMawsū‘at Ma‘ārif al-Kitāb wa al-Sunnahare published in Arabic in Royal octavo (Vaziri) format, spanning 432 and 444 pages respectively. They were released in 1404 SH (2025/2026) in cooperation with Dar al-Hadith Publications.
