The Book Qur’anic and Hadith Foundations of Islamic Resistance Published
The book The Qur’anic and Hadith Foundations of Islamic Resistance, authored by Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Morteza Khosh-Nasib, has been published as one of the works of the Institute for Qur’an and Hadith Research.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Research Institute of Quran and Hadith, resistance is not a transient act in the arena of politics; rather, it is deeply rooted in the revealed texts and the lives and teachings of the Infallible Ones (peace be upon them).
The culture of resistance and standing firm against oppression and aggression is rooted in the divinely endowed primordial nature of human beings. Even before other sources of knowledge, it is embedded in the innate disposition of free and independent people. The teachings of the Holy Qur’an, the Prophetic Sunnah, and the lives of the Infallible Ones (peace be upon them) have elevated this innate inclination and, on the basis of divine laws and patterns, have outlined a way of life grounded in faith and monotheism—a way of life that paves the way for human growth, spiritual elevation, and transcendence.
Within Qur’anic and Hadith discourse, concepts such as patience, endurance, steadfastness, jihad, upholding dignity, refusing humiliation, and human dignity are among the key concepts that explain how believers respond to oppression and aggression. These concepts also provide a divinely grounded framework for resisting oppressors.
In the present era, following the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God sanctify his soul), the steadfast and courageous Iranian nation has stood firm against the most ruthless enemies of Islam and Iran, drawing upon authentic Islamic and Shi‘i teachings and inspired by its own spirit of opposition to oppression. Under these circumstances, revisiting the teachings and manifestations of Islamic resistance in the light of Qur’anic verses and the narrations of the Infallible Ones (peace be upon them) has acquired renewed significance and a heightened sense of urgency.
This work brings together a collection of Qur’anic verses and narrations that encourage resistance. Through carefully selected, informative headings and a well-considered arrangement, these texts are presented alongside their translations. The breadth of the subject headings, the appropriate organization of the material, and the attention given to the educational and epistemic dimensions of the verses and narrations are among the book’s notable strengths.
By examining its Qur’anic and Hadith foundations, this work demonstrates how the mighty tree of “standing firm against oppressors” has taken root in the soil of faith and religious law, drawing nourishment from the pure spring of divine teachings.

The book The Qur’anic and Hadith Foundations of Islamic Resistance, authored by Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Morteza Khosh-Nasib, is written in Persian, published in the Wazīrī book format, and comprises 245 pages. It was published in the Iranian calendar year 1405 (2026–2027) in collaboration with Dar al-Hadith Publications.
