Head of Research Institute of Hawzah and University: Islamic Human Sciences Must Solve the Country’s Executive Problems

Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Dr. Mohammad Baqer Sa’idi Roshan stated at the opening of the Sixth Conference on Islamic Human Sciences: “The most important duty upon us today is to seriously consolidate the achievements of the sacred Islamic Republic system against global imperialism—which is in fact an ideological rival—on the basis of monotheism (tawhid).”

According to the Public Relations Office of the Quran and Hadith Research Institute, Referring to the noble verse And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you...﴿ (Al-Hajj: 78), he said: “This verse is our guiding light in the field of human and Islamic sciences. Allah has obligated every believer—in whatever position or responsibility—to perform jihad in the way of Allah as it deserves.”

He added that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) is a witness over the Islamic ummah, and the scholars—as heirs of the Prophet—are witnesses, overseers, and in a sense the leaders of humanity. This verse greatly increases the weight of our responsibility.

He pointed to key concepts in the verse: jihad, the status of religious scholars, connection with Allah, unity, and holding fast to Allah alone as the everlasting Guardian.

He emphasized that the ultimate goal of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in establishing the Islamic society was to create a monotheistic community in which people are servants of Allah alone and not slaves to anyone else.

The head of the Research Institute stressed that managing this society in all its dimensions requires specialized scientific support based on authentic Islamic culture while keeping pace with contemporary knowledge. This can only be achieved by elite scholars who possess deep knowledge of Islamic teachings and mastery of modern sciences.

He frankly stated: “Despite decades since the Islamic Revolution, the expected scientific outcomes in solving the country’s problems have not yet fully materialized. We seriously expect hawzah and academic centers to help resolve the problems of the Islamic system in the fields of governance, legislation, economy, and culture.”

He urged Islamic research institutes not to remain isolated islands but to coordinate comprehensively and present practical Islamic solutions. He proposed categorizing major national issues, assessing each institute’s capacities, and assigning specific missions accordingly.

Quoting recent statements by Western officials, he said: “Even Trump—the most wicked and demonic figure in the world—told European leaders: ‘Our main rival is Iran, an ideological competitor.’ This statement did not come from a deranged mind alone; it is the result of in-depth backed studies.”

He concluded: “Therefore, our primary duty today is to vigorously pursue—on the basis of tawhid—the successes of the sacred Islamic Republic against global imperialism, which is in reality an ideological rival. The steps taken in the past six months are insufficient; we must pursue synergy among Islamic scientific institutions with greater seriousness.”
